After several inquiries requesting the right to translate certain reports on this web site from English to languages spoken in the Orient, Scandinavia, Europe, and other areas, we are posting this page to encourage such voluntary translation efforts.

See below for translations already completed into the following languages. At the bottom of the page are suggestions for articles that are in need of translation in many languages.

IT WOULD BE MOST HELPFUL TO TRANSLATE THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES INTO LANGUAGES OTHER THAN ENGLISH:

Of the many research papers and consumer reported here, we recommend certain ones as having international significance because they explain principles and important research that can be generalized world wide. Examples of reports prepared by Dr. Jon Taylor that would be excellent translation candidates include the following (in descending order of priority):

“The 5 Red Flags:  Five Causal and Defining Characteristics of Product-based Pyramid Schemes, or Recruiting MLM’s” (2006 edition in Word format, incorporating historical and other information from the report titled “Product-based Pyramid Schemes: When Should an MLM or Network Marketing Program Be Considered and Illegal Pyramid Scheme?”)  If time is limited or you want something posted until you have time to do the full report, you might consider translating the brief summary titled "The 5 Red Flags for Identifying Exploitive Product-based Pyramid Schemes, or Recruiting MLM's."

– "FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS and Straight Answers about MLM  (network marketing, pyramid or chain selling, etc.)" This article is a summary of questions and feedback from thousands of persons who have inquired about definitions and the legitimacy of MLM and the lack of effective law enforcement to protect consumers from exploitive programs. Refers to consumer guides to prevent abuse

 – “Who Profits from Multi-level Marketing? Preparers of Utah Tax Returns Have the Answer”  It is  hard to argue what tax professionals have observed about who is profiting and who is not. The results of this survey are rather revealing.

“Top Ten Things I Learned from Ten Years’ Research on MLM”  It took an extremely varied background and ten  years' research to fully debug the many deceptions inherent in these chain selling schemes.

“Twelve Tests for Evaluating an Network Marketing (MLM) ‘Opportunity’ ”  (Word document) These common sense questions help anyone to protect themselves from the worst schemes.

“Pyramid Schemes and the Internet: Resources to Counteract the Threat” – Power Point presentation prepared for the Economic Crime Summit Conference (sponsored by the National White Collar Crime Center)

Where appropriate, we will post the translations on our web site for the benefit of others who speak that language. Please direct inquiries and permissions requests relating to translations to Dr. Jon Taylor at jonmtaylor@juno.com Thank you.
